Programs

As a part of the Monterey Peace and Justice Center’s Mission, two programs are organized to benefit the public:

The Library – Reading Room:  Our free lending library of books and DVDs has a concentration on social issues, history, politics, economics, green living, and education.  Our catalog of more than 800 items is now available online in a searchable database.  To set up an account, please visit the Monterey Peace and Justice Center at 1364 Fremont Boulevard in Seaside during open hours, Wednesdays and Saturdays between 1pm and 5:30 pm.  Phone (831) 899-7322 for more details.

And Peace Through Understanding:   Free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are offered at the Center Thursdays 6:00–7:45 pm. No advance registration is required. Walk-ins are welcome. Some English is needed to participate.  Classes are taught by CSUMB Service Learning students and volunteers, under the direction of a certified ESL instructor.  For more information: (831) 899-7322.
