All ages are welcome! All Friends of Peace are welcome!PCMC is unit 48A in this year’s Monterey 4th of July parade: one of 60 entries participating in this celebration! The parade will feature bands, floats, specialty units and special guests. Thousands of spectators are expected to line the parade route of downtown Monterey to watch!
Meet in the “Blood Center Lot” at 576 Hartnell Street (at Webster…across from the Post Office). Last time we were in back of the building. Look for unit 48A
Be in place between 8:45 am and 9:15 am. The parade will step-off at 10:00 am, and may begin to move before that time as we get into starting position.
Note: Traffic is expected to be VERY heavy getting into the staging area. Please give yourself plenty of time and plan to walk many blocks to reach our staging area (576 Hartnell St. “the Blood Center”, likely in their back parking lot. Unit 48A).
This year we are asked to wear colorful costumes or uniformed attire. Be creative! At the least, please wear bold solid colors or large patterns, perhaps a hat or scarf, and if possible the same color head-to-toe to create a distinct look rather than the “any-ol’-day” wear.
You are welcomed and encouraged to carry a sign or wear items identifying your member group in PCMC. Also signs stating why/how your group stands for Peace is GRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT. Also welcome: quotes from our nation’s declaration of independence and constitution/bill of rights.
