David Cobb returns April 1st and 2nd to the Central Coast to promote citizen democracy and help mobilize and re-energize for grassroots action with his talk “End corporate personhood and legalize democracy.”
Join us for an evening with David Cobb, National Projects’ director of Democracy Unlimited, 2004 Green Party presidential candidate, and spokesperson for Move to Amend, as he discusses the history behind the recent Citizens United v. FEC Supreme Court decision and how we can work to reestablish a government of, by, and for the people Cobb will be appearing at two locations in our area:
Mon., April 1st , 7 pm: Salinas Teamsters’ Hall, 931 E. Market (cross street N. Sanborn),Salinas, and on
Tues., April 2nd , 7 pm: Wave Street Studios, 774 Wave St., Monterey. (Free parking in C. Row garage after 4 pm for locals with valid ID.) Free; donations appreciated.
The program will focus on how communities across the United States can organize to win the national campaign to amend the constitution and abolish corporate personhood. (Join those who have signed the online petition at http://www.MoveToAmend.org.) Move To Amend is a coalition of over 160,000 people and organizations whose goal is to amend the United States Constitution to end corporate rule and legalize democracy.
