The Peace Resource Center offers free English as a Second Language classes as an outreach program to the people of the surrounding community.  These classes aim to meet two needs.  One is the need for free classes in a convenient and easily accessible neighborhood setting for adult English learners.  The second is the need for serious students to improve their English skills and employment opportunities as quickly as possible, by participating in small, intensive classes or tutoring sessions.

Students need not register for the classes.

No classes Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays.

Peace Resource Center 2013 - ESL Teachers and Students

ESL teachers and students celebrating end of semester

History:  The ESL program was launched in Summer, 2009.  Word of mouth, and our highly visible location at 1364 Fremont Blvd. in Seaside, brought an enthusiastic response to the program.  The classes were so well received that we are now seeking local sponsorship to fund classes on an ongoing basis.

Be a Sponsor:  Enhancing communication among neighbors is a concrete way for us in the Peace  Community to think globally and act locally for peace through understanding.  Operating costs are modest, and donations of any size are welcome.

If you would like to help support this program, please visit the Join Us! page on the  Peace Central  website to make a donation online through our PayPal account, or write your check to “MPJC”, (Monterey Peace and Justice Center — our parent organization), and send it to P.O. Box 1823, Monterey, CA 93955.  Please write  “ESL Program” on the Memo line.
